Introduction To Crisis Intervention for Health Care Workers
Today health care workers are seeing increases in mental illness, drug seeking behavior, substance abuse and aggressive patients. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Many times in dealing with these patients you also deal with the patient’s friends, family or significant others that may also impaired, mentally ill or escalating the patients behavior.

- Assessing your environment
- Looking for important behavioral warning signs
- Defensive posture/stance
- Personal space
- General personal protection basics and restraint
- Team response
- Incident debriefing.
